You can do either. Depending on the current schedule, you can sign up for Wonder Moves (a drop-in class), or Soul Motion Platforms (a 4-week series). Or anything listed on the Come Dance page.
Occasionally I may schedule workshops or special classes. The best way to keep updated is to join the list. -
You’ll be in the dance room with other dancers. And, you can dance focused only on yourself.
Dance intimate is a foundational element of Soul Motion. It’s a chance to completely tune in to yourself and be present with your own movement. It is one of my favorites, especially when I was a new dancer.
And, you can change your focus to freely engage with other willing dancers at any time.

5 Rhythms is amazing, and that’s how I started doing conscious dance. In fact Vincent, creator of Soul Motion was one of the first teachers of 5 Rhythms authorized by Gabrielle Roth.
Everyone has a different answer to this question, but here’s my short answer.Music in a 5 Rhythms class has one progressive arc (a wave of sorts) with one crest. In a Soul Motion class, there may be several min-waves, and/or an unexpected change from one type of music to another.
Additionally, Soul Motion has it’s own set of movement distinctions. Learn more More about Soul Motion

No.
The only thing you need to be is willing and interested in give it a try. And then, if you can also be just 100% exactly the way you are, that’s even better.

If you can get yourself to class and move within your limitations, that’s perfect! In fact, more movement is very healing both physically, and emotionally.
I trust you to know your body, your limitations, and what you can and cannot do. In class, you will have a wonderful opportunity to explore your limitations and beyond in a loving, supportive, and fun environment.
I’m speaking from direct, recent experience. While in the training program to become a Soul Motion teacher, I suffered a significant ski injury (broken ankle and knee) that kept me in the hospital for nearly 4 weeks, and in a wheel chair for 5+ months (and I’m continuing with PT still for a 100% recovery). During that time, not wanting to miss my training, I traveled to Germany for my instructor training, and “danced” from my wheelchair for a full 7 days.
That was probably one of the most healing things I did on my journey to recovery. The movement, the environment, the fellow dancers, the teachers, all combined to provide a safe container for me to metabolize what had happened, be fully in my currently limited state, and envision the continued healing ahead. And that’s what a class is like.
If you have any specific concerns, I’m happy to talk one on one.
